Mobile Device and OS compatibility
The Soundbrenner Core can be used standalone. To unlock the device on first use, use advanced functionalities and update its firmware, it needs to be connected to our companion app "The Metronome by Soundbrenner." To connect the Soundbrenner Core to your smartphone or tablet needs to support Bluetooth 4.0 (also called Bluetooth LE or Bluetooth Smart).
List of compatible iOS Devices:
- iPhone 5 and later
- iPod touch 5 and later
- iPad 3 and later
- The Metronome by Soundbrenner app requires iOS 10.0 or later
List of compatible Android Devices:
Most Android smartphones and tablets that were released in 2011 and after will be compatible with Bluetooth 4.0. If you are not sure whether your device is compatible, feel free to contact our support at support@soundbrenner.com. We would love to hear from you!
- The Metronome by Soundbrenner app requires Android 4.3 or later
Some Android devices are incompatible with the Soundbrenner Core due to low processing power or weak Bluetooth hardware:

Huawei P8 Lite in particular, but many Huawei mobile devices can only connect up to 3 Bluetooth devices, so you might experience limited multi-player synchronization capabilities

DAW Compatibility
You can pair the Core with your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) using the MIDI feature in the app. Please note that MIDI is still at a beta stage and use different pairing methods for Mac and Windows. You can have more information on MIDI here.
You can also use Ableton Link to pair with Ableton Live, Reason, or other Link-enabled software.
